Black Friday!!

Oh my, my, my! I have decided that I am completely crazy! I did it! I went shopping at 6 am this morning!!!

I have never done this before. Not only that, but I made fun of people that did. Now, I realize what an adrenaline rush it is, I may have to do it every year. Definitely when the kids are older and want all the pricey things. It's the best way to save $$$$!!!
Of course, I had no gas in the car so that delayed my shopping (well, my standing in line for the doors to open) by 10 minutes. But I did fill the tank. I had to remind myself that it was just "stuff" and filling the tank would be better in the long run than just getting $10. What's 2 minutes? Now, there were only 2 Cricuts after I got mine so it could have really cost me, but I tried to keep some of my whits about me.
Here's what I got:
Cricut -$99, that's 1/2 price for you non-scrapbookers
4 cricut cartridges - less than 1/2 price
Gilmore Girls Season 7 - I've never seen an episode from this season so I'm thrilled!!! slumber party!
Dual screen DVD for the car - ours broke and was out of warranty, of course.
Plus Christmas presents I cannot disclose at this time
I got everything on my list and I'm afraid it has only made me more hungry for next year. We might have to get a sitter so we can make more stops next year. Matt went to Sears when I got home but I think we could definitely tag-team next year and make a killing!!!
I now know I'm a suburban stay-at-home-mom. I am exhilarated with Black Friday!!! It's somewhat embarrassing that it's 2 1/2 hrs later and I'm still high. This has to be better than crack!!

Sonic on the Way!

We're getting a Sonic!!! WAHOOO!! We just heard the good news this week and we are all thrilled. It should be here in January. It will be between our house and Jay and Jen's so I'm sure we'll hit it often. We told Jayci and she shouted with joy!! The next morning she woke up saying, "Mommy, we're getting a Sonic!!!" This was before we knew where it was going to be and she told me later, "We don't know where God's gonna put it." It was too funny. She has thanked God several times in her prayers that we are getting a Sonic. It cracks me up. She is her mother's daughter, that's for sure.

California "Rocks" . . .

. . . or should I say "SHAKES". Yes, we felt our first earthquake this week. On Monday about 4:30 in the am, there was an earthquake shake that centered about 16 miles east of us. It registered a 4.3. Matt felt it and heard a big boom just before he felt the shaking. I only heard the windows rattle.
About 9:30 later that morning, there was another . . . Matt again heard the boom and felt the shake. I must have been in the car. I didn't feel a thing. OK, we made it through it. No damage or even anything that fell off the walls. Too crazy!!!

I Pottied!!

I know you all cannot be as thrilled as I am but Cade pooped in the potty for the first time tonight!!!! He was so proud of himself. I'm sure one day he'll die to know I took a picture of his first poop but I did. Don't worry the pics aren't gross.

Jayci was a big help. She put the potty seat on, tried to play a game with him, and got him and M&M when he was finished. She felt much accomplishment too.

Sing, Sing a Song

Cade sings a song about his favorite Sesame Street character - Elmo. For those of you unfamiliar with the lyrics . . . "La, la, la, la . . . . la, la, la, la . . Elmo's world." This is the Cade version.

Happy Halloween

Nicole came over and helped me get the kids out for trick-or-treating. I couldn't decide if the kids liked hearing our doorbell ring with trick-or-treaters more than actually going door to door themselves or not. Granna sent a million spider rings so we passed out a few of those too.

Cowboy Cade

Mermaid Ariel, aka Jayci

TOTALLY FUN!!!

We took the kids to a "Pumpkin Patch" last Wednesday night. They are all over the place out here and Jayci wasn't buying Daddy's line anymore, "There getting things ready still . . ." Apparently there's a neat one out in wine country but Mommy didn't look it up online before we left and we couldn't find it in the dark. We defaulted to the one in the mall parking lot. Here are 2 pics of the kids going down the ginormous Titanic slide. I swear this thing was 2 stories high. (Ok, maybe not THAT high, but it felt that way to a Mommy on the ground.)
Cade's hair flying high as he caught bugs in his teeth from smiling all the way down. Matt said he didn't breathe until they hit the bottom.
Jayci screamed all the way down EVERY time she did it. She rode with Matt a couple of times and then wanted to do it by herself. Once she came off screaming, "TOTALLY FUN! TOTALLY FUN! TOTALLY FUN!" It was the cutest thing!!! They had a blast.
